Pune &#8211; A.V.B. Phadke Vidyalaya, New Panvel organized a meaningful and eco-conscious &#8220;Natural Color Making Workshop&#8221; for the students of the Secondary Section. The workshop aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to celebrate Holi in a safe, scientific, and sustainable manner.<\/p>\n<p>The program was gracefully anchored by Mrs. Maral Ma&#8217;am, who explained the cultural and seasonal significance of Holi as a Harvest Festival and its importance during the transition from winter to spring. She emphasized how traditionally Holi was celebrated using natural Ingredients that were beneficial for health and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Four educational videos were screened during the session. The first video focused on the cultural heritage and roots of Holl. The second video highlighted the harmful effects of synthetic chemical colors, especially toxic substances such as heavy metals that can damage skin and pollute water. The third video demonstrated the scientific method of preparing natural pigments. The fourth video explained important safety measures for protecting skin, eyes, and animals during the celebration.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Harshala Ma&#8217;am conducted a live practical demonstration where she showed the preparation of natural colors using organic ingredients mixed with a starch base. She explained the correct proportions to make vibrant, pH-balanced, and skin-friendly colors. Students actively observed and learned the step-by-step process with grent interest.<\/p>\n<p>The natural colors demonstrated included yellow prepared from turmeric (haldi), known for its anti-bacterial and skin-healing properties; pink and red prepared from beetroot and hibiscus. rich in antioxidants; green prepared from spinach and neem, recognized for their natural antiseptic qualities; and orange prepared from marigold (zendu), which helps soothe skin irritation during seasonal changes.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop concluded on an inspiring note, successfully bridging traditional wisdom with scientific knowledge and environmental responsibility.
