*Grand Celebration of Ashadi Ekadashi with Enthusiasm*

The Maharashtra Education Society, Pune, an institution with a tradition spanning over 163 years, organized a vibrant festival at well established Adyakrantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Vidyalaya in New Panvel. This English medium primary school celebrated Ashadi Ekadashi with a procession (Palkhi) and ‘Jaldindi’ arrangements.

Amidst enthusiastic musical performances with cymbals and other instruments, the principal of the school, Sheetal Salunkhe, and other teachers commenced the festivities with worship and prayers to Lord Vithoba. Various saints’ teachings, including the significance of Ashadi Ekadashi and the awareness about ‘Jaldindi’ (regarding water), were also shared during this festival. Approximately 700 students from grades 1 to 7 participated in this Dindi festival.

The students dressed up in traditional attire representing Vithoba, Rukmini, Saint Tukaram, Saint Jnaneshwar, and others. As the Dindi procession entered the school premises, the atmosphere resonated with the beats of the mridang and the sounds of devotional songs, creating a joyful ambiance.

As part of this event, competitions and exhibitions of drawings created by students to raise awareness about water conservation were organized. Abhang (devotional songs), dances, and devotional hymns were also presented by the students.

The program emphasized Sant Jnaneshwar’s teachings for a healthy and prosperous life for all.
