With an intention to impart National Education, Vaman Prabhakar Bhave, Adyakrantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke and Laxman Narhar Indapurkar, these three great visionaries & reformists laid the foundation and established Maharashtra Education Society in 1860 at Pune.
On 19th November 2019, MES enters the 160th year of its voyage. The MES has been contributing to the field of education by providing education from kindergarten to post graduation(KG to PG).At present MES run over 77 institutions at various places in Maharashtra.
With view to impart quality education to the rural parts, besides having top colleges , schools & institutes in the city of Pune, MES has expanded to Saswad, Baramati, Panvel, Belapur , Kalamboli, Shirwal, Kasar Amboli , Ahmednagar, Solapur, even far into the relatively underdeveloped regions like Chiplun in Konkan.
The MES set up Pre-primary,Primary and secondary schools in both English & Marathi Medium from June 1999 at New Panvel. The School is named after the founder of MES, Vasudev Balwant Phadke whose birthplace is Shirdhon near Panvel. The School receives good patronage from Panvel and its environ. Not only the number of students, but quality of education has also been increasing. It proves with the 100% result in SSC board exam consistently from last 10 years. Scholarship holders are the real treasure of the school . Students are achieving great success in NTS, MTS, Ganit Sambodh, Pradnyashodh and Hindi Rashtrabhasha exams.
The Pre Primary section of school is practicing flexible play-way method which is based on a child’s interest and aspects like activity based concepts , life skills , parents school , Bunni Tamtola activity. Students are doing things practically to nurture scientific attitude. We feel gratified that all these years the school has successfully prepared our children to enjoy and excel both in classroom and outside.
Our school dedicated to noble cause of education , aims to impart a holistic education to children , where they actually learn and experience growth in multidimensional aspect. Though the medium of our school is English, the culture we represent is 100% Indian. Our school also provides an environment to nurture and strengthen the roots of our culture, we celebrate various festivals such as Environmental Dindi, Vruksh Rakshabandhan, Gurupornima as Matru-Pitru Poojan, Shardotsav, Mother’s day etc.
An ideal school gives to students the scope and the spirit of healthy competitions, fruitful activities which give students a platform to show their talent and they can excel at all levels i.e. school is the workshop of life building in which the raw material is the mind of young pupils, the principal, the teachers are the molders of these raw material into the ideal mould. For these process, many more activities like field visits, P.D. workshops, fistful food grain donation, visit to old age home, marketing and advertising skill development programs are arranged in the school. To make the students aware of their social responsibilities and duties and qualities of good citizens to serve the country, our school arranges activities like street play, water conservation campaign, Voting awareness, cleanliness campaignetc.
To provide a platform for ideas to spread the light of knowledge and to nurture self perpetuating and constant filling of self improvement in every individual child we have introduced “Reflections” , a monthly bulletin. It has been published consistently last 7 years. It is an amalgamation of thoughts, information, art work, jokes and creativity in various fields contributed by the students, teachers and parents.
Personality development and counselling center is one of the distinctive features of our school. P.D. center takes individual problems of the child and tries to develop their personality by counselling and giving guidance to them free of cost.To eradicate the stress of the students, we installed an opinion box near the entrance of the school.
Intelligence test is conducted for the students of std. 5th , on that basis it is decided that which students need guidance and select them for mentor activity. In this activity, the teachers play the role of caretaker, friend, a mentor of these students. The goal of students mentoring is to help them to gain the skills and confidence to be responsible for their future.
Our school has established “Adhyapak Prabodhini” for teachers which arranges different activities for teachers for the enhancement of various skills.
For the physical development of the child, we have introduced ‘Kridavardhini’ . For this we have introduced national and international games like Gymnastics, Taekwondo, Kabaddi etc.
To increase the interaction with parents, school arranges various competitions and inspirational lectures and workshops for parents. Our Parents Teachers Association is always co-operative for the betterment of school. School has arranged fund raising program for 6 times and parents co-operation was highly impressive because of good rapport.
The school provides its students the best opportunities to develop their skills at multi levels. In future also we will provide greater avenues to our students and look forward to touch new heights in the years to come.
