                                                          The jubilation of Maharashtrian folkart…!
On December 29, 2022, M.E.S. Adyakrantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Vidyalaya, New Panvel, English medium section, celebrated its 24th Annual Social Gathering and Prize Distribution Ceremony. The ceremony was held on the school playground in the evening between 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM in a very exciting atmosphere.
It was a grand function with a variety of cultural activities, and dance performances on the theme ‘Maharashtra chi Lokdhara.’ Various folk dances of Maharashtra were performed in this event. The pre-primary, primary, and secondary sections of the school enhanced the ceremony by performing various dances such as Jogwa, Mangalagaur, Dhangar, Waghya-Murli, Powada, Koli dance, Dindi, Abhang, Lezim, etc.
Dr. Suhas Haldipurkar, a well-known ophthalmologist and director of Laxmi Eye Institute, Panvel was the chief guest of this occasion. The chief guest distributed prizes, and medals among the top scorers and the winners of interschool competitions held in the past two academic years. He also delivered a valuable speech. In his speech he expressed his feelings as for the past many years, he has been visiting the school, and Phadke Vidyalaya is known as one of the most activity-centric schools in Panvel. He also guided the parents about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle for their children. He appealed to the students as well as parents to work hard in order to attain success and achieve a futuristic career that would make the school proud.

The purpose of inculcating self-confidence, team spirit, and familiarity with the traditions of Maharashtra through folk dance among the school students was successful with this event.
Phadke Vidyalaya has always been a pioneer in organizing such programs for the overall development of students and the headmistress of the school asserted that this tradition will be continued.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the National song, Vande Mataram.
