A mesmerising agrotour of primary students…Saguna baug

Trip to Saguna Baug

A.V.B. Phadke Vidyalaya, English medium, Primary section organized a school picnic for the students of grades 5 to 7 on the 22nd of December 2023 to Saguna Baug, Neral. Memories of school trips are among the most prominent of the formative years. Students assembled on the school premises at 7 am and were all pumped up for their trip. With soaring excitement levels, they were all set to have a fantastic day out with their friends and teachers. The bus travel to the venue gave some personal time for the students to interact, sing, and dance with their friends. On arrival at the venue, breakfast was awaiting, post which, the students were divided into groups and taken on a field tour of the picturesque location.
On reaching the park, the children enthusiastically explored the alluring beauty and bounties of nature. The guides from Saguna Baug took them on a nature walk and showcased the specialties of the plants, trees, flowers, crops, etc that were naturally grown on their land. They also demonstrated the various ways in which these could be used and highlighted their importance in the production market as well. There were many activities for them such as boating, bullock cart rides, etc. There was a display of a variety of animals like ostriches, emus, iguanas, camels, etc, for the students. Many posed fearlessly with iguanas and other animals for pictures.
Students also witnessed a snake show by trained professionals. They were then served with delicious lunch and were given time to explore the place with their fellow mates.

The authorities also organized an amazing performance of Mallakhamb by National level champions. Their display indeed left us all spellbound. Throughout the wonder of the entire locality of Saguna Baug, children were awestruck by the different types of trees and mesmerized by the beautiful flowers in the fields. After high tea, the students boarded the bus and returned to school around 6.30 pm. This trip indeed gave the students a chance to build closer bonds with their classmates and teachers, experience new environments, and enjoy a day away from the classroom. The bright faces and happy smiles at the end of an exhaustingly fun day were ample proof that indeed it was a memorable trip for all.
