Deep Poojan (ritualistic worship of lamp)is done on the day of Ashadha ) and Amavasya (no moon day) to express gratitude unto the Agni !
We at A.V.B. Phadke Vidyalaya, New Panvel celebrated ‘Deep Poojan’ on 15th July 2023. According to Hindu mythology, Deep Pooja is dedicated to the Ishta Devata (favorite God) and to Pancha Mahabhootas (Five primordial elements-Air, Water, Fire, Sky, and the Earth).
It is believed that the sparkling light of diyas drives out all the evil and bad powers and welcomes new brightness into their life by doing so.
Headmistress hon. Salunkhe mam and other teachers lit up the diyas with the belief to welcome brightness into everyone’s life.
A Diya decoration competition for students was also arranged on this auspicious occasion to know the importance of this festival. Little wonders from all the classes enjoyed the celebration through decorating lamps with variety of colours, sparkles etc.
Overall we pray for good health and prosperity in everyone’s life through the celebration of this festival
