Report -Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande Death Anniversary Celebration  The Death Anniversary of Veer Baji Prabhu k was celebrated with great reverence, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit on 23rd July 2026 at our school. The programme was organized to pay tribute to the legendary Maratha warrior whose death anniversary is observed every year as Balidan Diwas. The event aimed to inspire students with the ideals of courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and patriotism. The programme began with a warm and gracious welcome by Mrs. Rajini Mam, who welcomed the Principal, teachers, staff members, and students. She emphasized the importance of remembering the brave heroes who dedicated their lives to protecting Swarajya and encouraged students to learn from their inspiring lives. This was followed by the Poojan (floral tribute) of the portraits of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande. The respected Principal and teachers offered flowers as a mark of respect and gratitude. The atmosphere became solemn and patriotic as everyone paid homage to the great warriors. After the poojan, a brief introduction to the life and sacrifice of Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande was presented. Students learned about his unwavering loyalty to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, his remarkable bravery, and his supreme sacrifice during the historic Battle of Pavan Khind, where he fearlessly fought to ensure the safe escape of Shivaji Maharaj to Vishalgad Fort. To further honour the great warrior, the school presented a short documentary film dedicated to Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande. The film beautifully portrayed his courage, determination, and selfless sacrifice. It helped students understand the importance of his contribution to the Maratha Empire and filled everyone with pride and patriotism. The cultural programme continued with a magnificent Powada presented by the students of Class VIII – Sahyadri Division. The participants were: Vaidehi More Gargi Ghangrekar Adarsh Bhosale Shardul Before the performance, Rajini mam  was introduced to the significance of Powada, a traditional Marathi ballad or folk poetry that narrates heroic deeds and inspiring stories of great warriors. Through powerful narration, energetic singing, and expressive performance, the students vividly brought to life the bravery and sacrifice of Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande. Their outstanding performance received loud applause and appreciation from everyone present. The programme concluded with an inspiring address by Mrs. Nileema Maral Mam. She explained that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did not achieve Swarajya alone; he was supported by brave and loyal great warrior like Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande, whose sacrifices made the dream of Swarajya possible. She encouraged students to become responsible and courageous citizens by following the ideals of Shivaji Maharaj and his great warriors. Following this, the Headmistress, Mrs. Manisha Mahajan Ma’am, addressed the gathering with an inspiring message. She urged the students to follow the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his brave warriors by developing qualities such as courage, discipline, honesty, patriotism, and respect for others. She motivated them to become responsible citizens and to contribute positively to society through their hard work and good character. In her concluding message, she inspired the students by saying that today’s young generation should build a strong and progressive nation by working with honesty, discipline, and dedication. Along with preserving the values of Swarajya, we must also contribute to the development of our country and protect our environment for future generations. Her motivational words left a deep impact on the students and encouraged them to become responsible citizens. The programme ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the Principal, teachers, students, and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the event. The celebration was a memorable and meaningful tribute to Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande, reminding everyone that courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and patriotism are timeless values that continue to inspire every generation.
